Welcome from a windy, wet and miserable UK at the end of a very damp weekend.

Just back from 3 hours of watching my youngest son play hockey for his county trials. He was picked earlier in the year to go into the fist stage county coaching scheme. He has attended 4 special coaching sessions and today was the final assessment where all the groups came together and played a series of 20min observed games. The best of the players will then be selected to move up to the next level of county training. All great fun except that the heavens opened just as they were starting and everyone (including spectators) got thoroughly soaked and then had to spend the next 3 hours getting cold and wetter.

I don’t think my lad will get through this time as he is one of the younger members of the group which span 2 years of age difference. This age span results in significant differences in height, weight and strength. But it is a good training for next year if he gets selected again.

We just got back in time to take the dogs out in the rain! before it got dark.

###====###

You may be aware that I offer a free 30min consultation to anyone who wants to discuss their online endeavours. You can sign up on my blog should you want to take me up on this.

I mention this here because I have had two people on the consultation last week who had similar problems which are worth highlighting here without going into the specifics of each call.

They both had an existing online presence by way of a blog/website. The first was selling a Clickbank product and the second was selling a physical product related to his off-line business.

But in both cases even though the products were good and well priced they were not managing to sell anything. In the case of the Clickbank product he was following a basic guide that he had purchased which took him through the whole process of setting up the blog and starting to promote it. With the physical product they had spent money getting the site built and had written a couple of articles and distributed them to several directories they had also tried AdWords but spent a lot more than they made so gave up.

In both cases they had put in a lot of effort and were now about ready to quit.

In both cases they had almost no traffic to their sites. TRAFFIC is the lifeblood of any online business YOU MUST HAVE TRAFFIC.

OK you say. That’s obvious.

But guess what. It’s the main killer of peoples online pursuits. Many think that traffic will naturally come to their website. WRONG you have to work hard and smart to get it. The next time you are tempted by some latest scheme for selling Clickbank products or affiliate products just remember you will need to be able to generate traffic to be able to sell anything. Now it’s not difficult but you have to choose your keywords with care and then your promotion strategy and stick to it.

It also gets worse. Many target the so called ‘low hanging fruit’ keywords that have low competition and low traffic. This is a great strategy however you really have to rank within the top 5 on Google for these terms to get any real traffic to your website. You see that if a keyword phrase gets 20 searches per day on Google most of the clicks will go to the top positions. And the thing is that you will not get to rank in the top 5 (unless there is little competition) if you just write an article or 2 and get a few backlinks.

It takes a bit of keyword research and a systematic approach to promote a website for the chosen keyword phrases. As I have said before it is not difficult but you need to follow the steps and processes to start opening the door to the traffic. When you have the traffic then you can start to concern yourself about conversion rates, product offers, site layouts etc. To do this first is just pointless and meaningless.

So build your traffic first and then optimise your selling process.

You will want to know how best to get the traffic to your website. Well for the few months I have been beta testing a system for promoting your website and getting you to rank high on Google which will provide you with all the traffic you need.

The system is due to be opened to the public (you) on December 8th you can sign up for early notification for Web 2 Mayhem http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/mayhem here.

I will also give you some shots of what is provided within the package in future updates.

But my main reason for including this is to show you that it is possible to get traffic to your website and turn those dead projects into ‘Golden Geese’ if you follow the right plan.

Welcome from a windy, wet and miserable UK at the mid point of the weekend.

OK so it has been a long time coming but ‘good things are worth waiting for’ and I have a real treat for you that has prompted this email.

I have been working hard since the last update. First with the 30 day challenge which went really well and continues to provide benefits to my online business. Then subsequently helping to beta test a new web site promotion tutorial system which is really awesome and is providing me with page 1 Google rankings for a number of different projects. But more of this in future updates.

The reason for blowing the dust off my keyboard is simply as follows:-

I received an email the other day telling me about a guy in New Zealand called Geoff Shaw, who is selling a product called BumBlogging. The words used by the friend who recommended it to me were “You should take a look at this – it’s REALLY good.”

I did. And it is.

BumBlogging is a complete system that has been perfected by Geoff over the last few years. It is a very clear blueprint of how he actually makes a considerable income himself and as such it doesn’t include a lot of the theoretical BS that you so often find in such products. This is step-by-step reality.

The entire course is delivered as a membership site, but one with a really big difference – there are no on-going charges. You pay just a small one-off fee to join and then nothing more.

The reason Geoff has made it web based is so that he can continually update the information as either the Internet changes, or he finds better ways of doing things.

Consequently, this isn’t tired and out of date, it is always current and totally workable.

Even better, apart from a domain and hosting, there is nothing more to buy. Geoff’s methods can all be achieved using free products and services.

And overdelivery! Wow! This guy piles it on!

Since getting BumBlogging I’ve been reading it whenever possible and absorbing as much of it as I can. Not that it is complicated – it isn’t – but to make it work as well as it can you have to understand the process and follow it exactly.

It is not often that I get really excited by a new product – usually by the ones that give you all the information you need to succeed. That’s why I love BumBlogging.

And there is another reason to get excited too.

If you go to the main website at http://www.bumblogging.com you’ll see two things: one is that the price is $97 and two is that it is currently closed to new members.

Well as soon as I saw just how good this thing is I emailed Geoff Shaw and asked if I could offer BumBlogging to you.

He not only said yes, but he also slashed a massive $60 off the price.

http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/bumble

You’ll get EVERYTHING that full-price members get, but at a tiny fraction of the original price.

It doesn’t matter if you are a complete and utter newbie or already an experienced marketer, BumBlogging will be easy for you to understand and put into action, and full of concepts that will make you wonder why you’ve been over-complicating Internet marketing for so long!

Do yourself a big favour and get this one.

The Smelly Dog Day: Update 147

______________________________________________________

Greetings from a rather damp UK. Today has turned out to be, what we refer to as a ‘Smelly Dog Day’. It started off great nice and warm and sunny but as the afternoon moved in so did the rain clouds. At 15:00 it was so dark that I had to put the office lights on. Then 20mins later it was bright sunshine.

At 18:00 is was warm and sunny so I decided it was safe to take the dogs out for a run. I drove them the 2 miles (further) out into the countryside to where this great walk is. The dogs love it because there is a huge field which has public right of way where they can run totally free. Henry the German Shepherd just runs/walks alongside me whilst Sparky dashes about chasing this and that with no real aim other than to have great fun. We then get to run alongside the local woods before turning around and heading back.

The path runs due North/South with the woods on the East so it gets the full evening sun. A really great place to be at the back end of the day. Except when you look to the Southwest and see this huge black cloud heading your way. I could see the telltale dark strands bridging the gap between cloud and land. We were exactly at the furthest point from the car when the rain started. So we just continued jogging back.

Then I thought I heard a rumble of thunder so I stopped and looked round to see this huge mass of angry black cloud all the way across the sky to the West. A couple of bright flashes followed almost instantly by the crack of thunder gave me a clue as to what was going on above me. Then as I watched this massive bolt of lightening hit the ground on the far side of the field about 800 yards away and I suddenly realised that this was not a good place to be.

So we ran at a fair pace back towards the lower ground. By now it was raining really hard and I was soaked through but we ran the 15 mins or so back to the car. I bundled the dogs into the back of the car and headed back to home. Anyone who has had the experience of travelling in a car with two soggy canines will understand the term ‘Smelly Dog Day’!!.

Thanks for the emails enquiring as to my health (re the flu). Well it looks like I got off very lightly with just a fever for 48 hrs then just a lack of energy. But today I feel ok. So I think it could have been anything. The Doctors are just grouping it all under the same name and as the initial treatment/advice is the same for anyone with a fever thats OK by me but it does distort the stats re swine flu.

I have been doing some work with one of my longstanding clients in the wine trade. He has a particular wine storage racking system that is good and relatively low cost compared to some of the other systems he sells. But the problem is that for some reason he does not sell much of it.

We reworked his website a while back to show this product and all the various combinations of racking that are available. But still the sales were too low for such a good looking product.

So after much debate we decided to rethink our strategy. It occurred to me that may be it was the number of possible options that were causing the problem.

We all know that the reason many fail to even start in the Internet Marketing business is because there are just too many possible starting points. So many just can’t decide what to do next and do nothing. Those that do start often question the decision they made and therefore do not fully commit to making it work. They almost give themselves a reason why it will fail right from the start.

So I got to thinking about how this might relate to the wine rack scenario. We decided to design a set of racks as examples and show pictures of these together with prices on the website. The difference was amazing. Sales increased straight away for both the standard examples we were showing plus people asking for ‘one of those but with this option’.

It would appear that in general we are unable to take the basic building blocks and make something from scratch. We much prefer to take something that is already designed as is or with further modification. Now I know that this is a sweeping generalisation but it appears to be the case for the wine rack business. I guess though it’s driven by how much effort you have to put into something to get a result and how much you really want it!

We are talking wine racks here but I think the same is true for many in the Internet Marketing Business. If there are too many options on the road to success then how many are going to decide on a way to go?

The thing is that it really does not matter as long as you keep on going and keep focused on your goal. There are always knocks and upsets with any project but you just have to keep on going.

So the message is – If you want to make something happen then you have to do Something – The longer you spend doing Nothing then the longer you have to wait for the Something to happen.

So Do Something Now!!

Well here we are in the middle of the last Bank Holiday in the UK for 2009 (what a scary thought). The August Bank Holiday weekend sort of represents the end of the summer for most because the kids go back to school soon. It is also very noticeable that the evenings are also starting to draw in with it starting to get dark soon after 8pm these days!

And to add to this misery we have been smitten with the dreaded swine flu. My youngest was the first to get it and had 2 days with a high temp 102 and fever he appears to be over the worst. Now it has spread to me, current temp is 101 and I definitely feel rough. So this update will be a little short today.

##~##~##

I have had a whole load of emails mentioning Tony Robbins over the last few days. That in its self is not a problem Tony Robbins is one of the best in my book. So this is probably all about the build up for his new product launch. But there are 2 other guys who in my mind are right up there in the IM business namely Frank Kern and John Reese. They always deliver the goods and provide something good in return. So when I see Tony Robbins, Frank Kern and John Reese working together I know that there is something good on the horizon.

Just check out these two videos on Tony’s blog http://tonyrobbinstraining.com/date/2009/08/ make sure you watch them both.

Article marketing update.

It’s been about 6 weeks since I opened my account with Article Marketing Automation ( http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/ama ). I have three main articles on the system. The first was a bit of a flop and has only been published 17 times. This was down to my rather poor choice of title ‘ How Not To Promote Your Website With Google’. It is not wise to write articles with a negative spin. It is much better to be positive.

The second and third articles have been published 45 and 40 times respectively with an acceptance rate of 95% and 100% .

So I have 102 articles posted on different blogs 62 pointing back to my the-silent-salesman.com blog and 40 pointing to one of my ezinearticles.

I have checked the silent salesman blog and see some back links now being shown on Yahoo (Google does not provide comprehensive back link data) but I am a little disappointed in the number of total links that are showing. It would appear that many of the 45 articles have yet to be indexed and I guess that they will be on low pr blogs.

Still they will all end up being valuable links back to my blog.

##~##~##

I have been checking out a new service called Traffic Bug which you can see here http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/trafficbug .

The service is designed to take the effort out of getting your site or blog noticed and indexed by the search engines. This is done by submitting the site/pages/posts to Web2.0 services, directories and search engines. My first thoughts are that it saves a lot of time and effort beceause you just enter the site/page details and then just let it get on with the process.

Check it out for yourself http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/trafficbug .

Well that’s it for another Sunday.

Keep the emails coming it is always great to get feedback.

Greetings it has been a long time.

We survived Edinburgh Fringe even though the wind and rain did its best to try and scare us off. Yes whilst England was basking in sunshine Scotland was soggy and windy. When I checked the weather on my iPhone each morning there was always a thick band of cloud north of the border with England. Luckily the rain tended to be at night so it didn’t dampen the fun too much.

For those who don’t know the Fringe. It is an annual event held in August up in Edinburgh Scotland. It covers the complete spectrum of the performing arts from comedy to serious plays and from classical music through to rock and blues. It also spans all the age groups from children to adults. There are well over 350 different venues spread across Edinburgh. Most of the events are paid ticket only but there is also a complete free Fringe festival where performers rely on audience financial contributions to earn their money.

The whole city is alive with the Fringe and to top this there is also an international festival and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on at the same time.

We have some friends who were performing one show a day for the duration of the Fringe. Being a children’s show they were finished by lunchtime so we managed to spend some time together. But I also managed to get a bit of an insight into the workings of the festival.

There appears to be a complete mix of marketing methods used by the performers. Many like our friends rely heavily on the official Fringe guide and then the reviews that are published in the local papers and the Scotsman paper. In my mind the review system was completely biased (I saw a couple of 4 star plays that were very disappointing). But the reviews can make or break a show. Luckily our friend’s show was given a couple of well deserved good reviews so they were sold out for the first 2 weeks.

Many performers use flyers to pull in the punters. The ‘Royal Mile’ is closed to traffic and used by performers to give small samplers of their shows. Again there are official and unofficial areas where the performers do their best to attract interest. Whilst this is going on there are people moving about handing out flyers.

The art has got to be to cover as many methods as possible and not put all your eggs in one basket (a certain similarity to our line of business I think 🙂 )

If you ever get the chance to go you must give it a try (but take an umbrella). I will certainly try and go again next year.

#~#~#

Now unless you live under a large rock you will have been inundated with emails from every internet marketer trying to get you to buy Brad Callen’s Keyword Elite 2. I was actually mentally ticking each ‘guru’ off my list and waiting for the missing ones to turn up (which they did). They were all using the buy through my link and get these bonuses technique. This probably works for many which is why the ‘gurus’ spend time (not much though) promoting it. But it does not work for me. I am getting fed up with these so-called ‘gurus’ who tend to take a lot more than they give out. I like to deal with folks who have something real to offer rather than just pitching the latest product created by someone else.

Now I have a copy of Keyword Elite 1 and it is a fantastic piece of software, Brad Callen is a great guy and a king of SEO.  So I have no doubt that Keyword Elite 2 is a great for those who need such a thing. I am very happy with my Market Samurai software so chose to pass on this.

My love hate relationship with Paypal continues. Whilst I was away a couple of my subscriptions were cancelled for no real reason other than the expiry of one of my cards on the system. Even though I have 2 verified bank accounts on the system.

Then for no reason they cancelled my subscription to ArticleMarketingAutomation yesterday.

No real damage done but a lot of hassle to sort out.

#~#~#

Well that’s it for this Thursday. I will give an update on my Article marketing efforts on Sunday.

______________________________________________________

Well yet another Thursday has drifted down stream towards the calmer part of the week (I hope). We have had a real rollercoaster of a week trying to keep everyone happy before I go away next week up to Edinburgh. I always give my main clients a couple of weeks notice that I will be going away so that they can plan accordingly. The trouble is that they all ask for something to be done before I disappear. So it was always going to be a difficult week. Tuesday night was one of the rare occasions when I decided let things slip. I had been working hard all day and it was a fine evening so the wife and kids decided to sit out and wait for the stars to show up. On the 11th and 12th of August we have one of the best/spectacular meteor showers in the Northern sky. So the kids had set up camp on the patio below my office window and were gazing starwards. In the end I gave in and grabbed a beer and went out to join them. It was a really spectacular sight. We have very little light pollution here so we had a great view of the meteors crashing through the atmosphere.

So we sat out til about 12:00 and then the kids went to bed I then worked for a bit just getting a few things sorted for the next day.

Wednesday came a bit too soon for my liking so we were a bit late getting up and I decided to walk the dogs around the village rather than drive them up to the local woods for their usual runaround. I got back with a few minutes to spare before I had to take my eldest off to wherever. I walked round to the drivers side of the car only to find that some kind person had broken into it by smashing the driver side window. Great and all this whilst the ‘guard’ dog was sleeping in the house. The thing is that all they took was a $200 Satnav which was only in there because the wife had recently used my car and the $2 charger for my iPhone! It just seems like a real risky business for something that has a street value less than $75! And as it happens they broke the charger as they ripped it out of the car 🙂

Anyway that then wasted Wednesday for me whilst I had to find and contact all that needed to be contacted. And then wait for someone to come and replace the glass which cost me another $50 for the excess. The insurance company have told me it’s not worth claiming for the Satnav because I have a $200 excess. Maybe try the house insurance.

So the car is now all fixed but covered with these small but sharp bits of glass. I am about a day behind where I should be and running out of time to sort it all.

Going away for us is always an uphill struggle because of the dogs and horse. So we have someone living in to look after it all and then someone else who will walk the dogs. But I often wish we could just pack our bags and set off somewhere without the need for all this planning.

As part of the process I have been trying to reduce the huge volume of emails I get each day. Now I use MailWasher http://wwwnofussinternetbusiness.com/mailwasher to filter out most of the rubbish but it still sits on the server up to the point where I hit the button. So I have actively started unsubscribing from some of the lists that I am on if someone starts to try and sell me products by scare tactics. Today I had such emails from 6 well known Internet Marketeers all pushing the same ‘Affiliate Jump’ product. I don’t know what this product is and I have no real want to find out but I do know that it is the best thing since….. and it would change my life forever if I buy it from Mr XYZ. How many times have we heard this before? So that’s a few more emails I won’t be getting.

For the record. I am not suggesting that this product is rubbish. I have no idea what it is all about. I am anti these big guns pushing product after product and not really giving anything original or helpful back. How can I possibly believe that they have my best interests at heart when they try to push me to buy all these products?

Now I have a few big names out there who I do trust and when they write a good review about something. I believe them and are more likely to buy something. Its all about trust and honesty which are traits that many Top Internet Marketeers just do not have!

There is a point to all of this.

Most people get sucked into the whole idea of making huge amounts of money online just by buying the latest product. They buy the product, start to work the plan, realise that you have to work to earn the money. Start to lose interest then buy the next must have product and so on.

I have been there and done it. Most of the products were well written useful eBooks about methods that worked. But most of the time I didn’t have the basic skills necessary to actually promote my website pages to get enough traffic to start making money.

It is this basic skill set that makes the biggest difference.

This is why I am such a strong supporter of the 30 Day Challenge -its free and jammed packed with great information, even some new stuff for me!

Yes its a challenge but you can start at any time – but of course now is best and it’s free.

So do yourself a favour and go over to http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/ and get started.

Now I am away until Sunday 23rd August so the next Update will be on 25th August.

Take care and learn.

______________________________________________________

As the sun sets on another weekend I find myself pondering on the days events and trying to get my head around all the things that have got stuck on the to-do list. Strangely we have had a really hot couple of days with NO RAIN!! Unfortunately the current weather pattern is great for making the grass grow. So we have had an afternoon of grass cutting and general garden tidying.

It’s hard to think that in June we had very little rain and our lawns and field were a parched mess. We live on sandy soil which tends to dry rock hard in the summer. If it does rain then most runs straight off and does not get much chance to soak in. So normally grass etc just dies off this time of year. But grass appears to have the ability to survive and when enough water eventually gets to it it starts to grow again. I wish the same could be said for the shrubs and flowers which really struggle with these soil conditions.

Another survivor appears to be our resident mole who would normally have moved on by now to the moister conditions of the adjacent field. But he is back and making a real mess of one of our lawns. Not only does he leave the familiar mole hills but he also tends to have very shallow runs which allows my field spaniel to smell him out. So we now have lots of frantic digging going on by the dogs chasing the mole. The net result is a lawn covered in holes.

Today there was much commotion out in the garden and both dogs were frantically digging in an almost cartoon style. As I appeared on the scene Henry the German Shepherd took a glance at me and the pounced cat like on something, then after a few seconds appeared with the mole in his mouth. I think this was just to try and justify the mess to my lawn. Henry then wandered over to me and stood there with the mole carefully held in his jaws still very much alive. My instant reaction was to shout drop which in hindsight was not the most sensible instruction to give. So Henry opened his mouth and let the mole fall onto the grass. The mole could not believe his luck and without even a thank you started to dig for freedom. I grabbed a spade and tried to dig him back up but the lucky survivor just out dug me ad disappeared into the soil. The dogs just watched on in bemusement as to why I had suddenly started destroying my own lawn. I am now trying to find someone who keeps Ferrets as in the past we have found that just a few lumps of fresh-ish Ferret pooh placed near to mole runs is enough to scare them off for a few months. Ferrets like moles but the feeling isn’t mutual!

Any roads enough of this; the only lesson to learn from this is that you have to react quickly to opportunities that arise (the mole has his freedom) but also importantly you have to be able to recognise when things are under control which then gives you more time to make considered decisions (I lost the mole).

In business this is a very important issue that can make a huge difference to how well you do. Quite often we spend our time ‘fighting the fires’, reacting to this or that request as it happens. Someone calls and asks you for some information and the tendency is to drop everything and find what they want. It’s human nature to try and please an existing or new client especially when you work for yourself. But this has been and still is one of my biggest downfalls that forces me to have tight time scales on some projects. I constantly have to kick myself for agreeing on the fly to do things by a certain date without considering the true impact on the rest of the workload.

The learning point here is so simple yet so easy to forget. When someone asks if you can do something don’t say yes straight away (unless you have nothing else to do) always ask them when they want it for. Even if it is just a five minute job try to fit it into your schedule rather than do it straight away. Why should you stop what you are currently working on to respond to this new request. Obviously you have to make a judgement on the importance of the task but assuming that it is not life threatening or something that is self induced then the client would not expect you to drop everything and sort his problem out.

It can actually potentially damage your image if you do just drop everything to satisfy a sudden request. Because if you are prepared to drop what you are doing to respond to a sudden non urgent request then what is to say that you wont just do the same with a large job that I give you.

Always try to negotiate on time scales because you know that people try to build in contingency on requests they make. Agree sensible time scales and then do what ever it takes to meet them. Never deliver late!

If you adopt this sort of strategy you will actually please more clients and reduce your own workload substantially.

Obvious I know, But so easy to forget (which I also know).

Well that’s all I have to give you today.

——————————————————————————————–

I am continuing to keep up with the 30 Day Challenge – the material is fantastic again this year. I am learning loads of things that will make a difference to my business. So it really does not matter where you are in the Internet spectrum you will gain something from listening/watching the tutorials.

There have been a couple of new features that are really fantastic and I can’t wait to try them out and report back.

I hope your Thursday is a bit drier than mine! I have just got back from one of the scariest drives I have ever made in the UK. I had to take my eldest to his skating lesson this evening in Peterborough which is only a 45 min drive from here. On the way there it started to rain so much that the motorways were flooded but we battled on and managed to get there on time. I then had to sit by a cold ice rink for an hour whilst my son had his lesson. The weird thing was that because it was so humid there was a dense fog hanging over the ice. It was quite bizarre seeing these skaters disappear into the mist. In all the time I was sitting there I could hear the rain pelting down on the roof.

When the lesson finished we started to make our way to the door only to see that it was still chucking it down. So we waited for a while and then just had to make a dash for it. So we all made it to the car soaking wet. I decided to get the boys a McDonald’s because it was getting late and they were hungry. So called in at the drive thru’ still pouring with rain. The McDonald’s roof had been specially designed so that when you open the car window to place your order the constant flood of rain off the roof goes straight in the window – nice.

We then started the trek back down the motorway – by now the rain was so heavy that the road was totally flooded in places and in others there was so much surface water that it was hard to keep going in a straight line. This combined wit a lot of lorries made the trip quite exciting.

So much for the BBQ summer they initially forecast. I still do not understand why they insist in making long range weather predictions for the UK. Why can’t they just admit it’s too complicated and then focus on getting the short term forecast right.

I have spent the last two days trying to get my head around all the modifications that are required to a client’s website to make it search engine friendly. This is always a difficult task because you have to make sure you pinpoint all the changes and get them written down so that the client’s web designers can cost out the changes. It is also difficult because your average web designer get’s upset when someone comes in and starts requesting changes. So a little tact and diplomacy is required to keep everyone sweet.

I have taken this opportunity to start using Google Docs and Google Sites to share information. They are free to use and are a really good way of sharing information in a controlled way.

If you have a gmail account then docs, calendar and sites are all included on the top menu. You can then upload files into Google Docs and grant people shared access by email. They can then read the documents and make comments for you to read and act upon. You can also create shared calendars and include everything in a shared website. – very cool.

Try it out just so you can understand what it does and maybe use it in the future if you cant find a use for it now.

In all of this I have managed to find some time to start to re-read one of the best books I know about writing for the web. It’s called ‘Web Copy That Sells’ by Maria Veloso. Stick it on your list of books to buy it is well worth the £12 I paid for it. The reason for raising this is that I have started to get curious about what makes some articles do well and others fail. I have a few articles out there that just outshine the others by a long stretch. When I read the articles they are good of course 🙂 but there is nothing obvious that makes them better than the others.

There is also Forbidden Persuasion by Jo Han Mok which I bought a while back but found a bit heavy going when I first read it. So I have decided to give it another chance. Another one by Jo Han Mok is called Recipe for Riches and this is definitely a good buy at $9.95 get your copy now by visiting this link http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/han .

I am continuing to keep up with the 30 Day Challenge – the material is fantastic again this year. I am learning loads of things that will make a difference to my business. So it really does not matter where you are in the Internet spectrum you will gain something from listening/watching the tutorials.

——————————————————————————————–

Well I think that’s enough of a ramble today. – the rain continues to pour down! British Summer Style!!

Keyword Analyzer and Granchester Meadows: Update 141

Hi

Sunday August 2nd 2009: Update #141

I hope your weekend has been as good as mine. Today was my wife’s Birthday so I have been away from my computer for a while. We went out for a Pub Lunch in Granchester which is just outside Cambridge. We me up with some friends and had a great time sitting out in the sunshine. After lunch we took a stroll with the kids and dogs through Granchester Meadows by the side of the river Cam. This is a place frequented by Cambridge University students and there were many large picnics going on by the river. Lots of famous Cambridge punts (boats) and much fun going on.

The dogs and kids managed to take a bit of a dip in the river. But all in all it was a really relaxing place to be, archetypically British as if time had stood still for a while. It was good to shut the door on everything else for a while. Try it sometime.

We got back and I resisted the ‘temptation’ to work and just chilled with the kids for a while. Now at 22:30 I am starting to write this update.

This week has been good for me I managed to sign up a new client for the Promotion business and have been encouraged by the response of other companies I have targeted. Again the main point of leverage is that many web designers (and businesses) do not think that Search Engine Promotion/Internet Marketing is part of the requirement. They build ‘good’ websites for nobody to see. If they do get asked to do some promotion many think it is just a matter of submitting to the search engines and the traffic will flow. How wrong can they be.

We have also seen the start of the 30 Day Challenge. Yes you will have received a few emails from me on it. Just in case you missed them here is the link to the sign up page http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com

We are now in day 2 and it’s all about researching and selecting a micro-niche market to build a site about. There are some absolutely fantastic video tutorials released as part of the 30DC on the topic of keyword research. Check them out on my blog here http://www.the-silent-salesman.com/keyword-research/keyword-analyser-for-niche-market-selection .

One of the great things about the 30DC is that it is free and you can just do what you want there is no obligation (other than to yourself).

==========================================

Article marketing progress.

We now have 50 articles spun from 2 originals with backlinks to the-silent-salesman.com website. This has been done using the AMA system which you can read about at http://www.nofussinternetbusiness.com/ama . We also have a single article which has been spun into 20 so far that has links to my Squidoo page and a single article on ezinearticles.com

The article itself has been republished 4 times in different places and has driven some traffic to the site.

The Squidoo lens now ranks #7 for the phrase promote a website on line out of some 57 million other pages! The-Silent-Salesman site is about #12 for the same term!

We are starting to see some traffic, so it looks like the strategy is working.

I will keep you posted.

30 Day Challenge What Is All The Fuss About: Update 140

Hi

Thursday July 30th 2009: Update #140

This Update is normally published three times per week for opted-in subscribers only. Publisher: Rich Sale. Your comments are always welcome – to respond to anything you read here, please leave a comment.

OK Rich so what is all the fuss about – you say.

Well the facts are like this – I know that a lot of you are thinking about getting started online, a lot of you are online but not really getting anywhere and some of you are still in the head scratching stage.

Well I also know that some of you have been on my list for quite some time, some of you are struggling financially, many are unsure about the future. Many of you have emailed me asking for low cost ways of getting started online.

So what I have to share with you today will suit all of the above (That’s YOU) right down to the ground.

Introducing the 30 Day Challenge – Don’t worry there is absolutely no money that you have to spend to do this.

We are talking about a 30 Day programme that will take you from nowhere to making your first $10. Step by step video training on every aspect that you need to know to make your first $1 online.

What The Heck you say, $10 is not going to change anything!

Soooooo Wrong if you learn how to make $1 in a month you will be able to make $1,000 a month or more if you apply what you have been taught.

Now this isn’t some half baked plan to get you tied into something that you have to pay for. This is an event that has run for 5 years! And every year it just gets bigger and better.

The co-founder is a guy called Ed Dale who is a really cool guy with some very strong principles. I have been on his list for a few years now and he has never tried to sell me anything that I know of. But he has probably taught me more than anyone else about Internet Marketing.

So what’s the deal you may ask, and why am I telling you this. Easy! I have been giving you tips and advice for a while now and I will continue to do so but I figured that it would be great fun for me, if some of you are going to sign up for the 30Day Challenge for me to team up with you.

The rules allow teams of seven people, either all working on the same project or working on individual sites but in a group. I would be prepared to either join one of the teams or generally help out in the background if there was more than one team.

The thing is that working as a team within the 30 Day Challenge network of people is great for keeping the momentum going and making sure that you reach the $10 30day goal together.

You have to believe me that this is a fantastic opportunity which will change your outcome online.

But you don’t have to just take it from me. Go here http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/ and watch the video and sign up (nothing to lose). When you sign up you will have access to the pre-season training which shows you how to use/set up all the tools etc.and the forum which is full of like minded people.

I have created a new twitter account which is just for the 30DC and people I work with be sure to follow me http://www.twitter.com/Rich_Sale

So that’s it really just go and sign up http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/ then drop me an email, tweet, text or phone if you want to discuss.

There is a huge 30DC community and they really go the extra mile to help anyone who asks.

So just give it a go and let me know.

Thanks
